For the past couple of weeks I have been working on trying to make a few watercolor paintings that could
easily be made into art prints and greeting cards. I have also been on a kick making art that includes stars and the night sky, so naturally the man in the moon popped into my mind and this was the result!
This past week we took a trip from Florida back to Texas to be in our sister's wedding. It was a lot of fun and really good to see the family again, since we have not seen them since January when we moved.
We got home this past Sunday, and then on Monday night I was going about my nightly routine when I heard something. It was a cat meowing outside our house...but not the typical cat fight noises one normally hears at night...this one sounded like it was crying...
Today I have been working on scanning in some of my etchings, lithographs, and woodblock prints from college...
For the longest time our scanner has eluded me, but after spending some time tinkering around with the settings I finally got the hang of it!
I am pretty excited about it, since it tends to give a more detailed image than photographing art.
Here are few of my prints, I hope you enjoy them!
Titles and descriptions of each print is underneath each image.
"Floating", color Etching with Drypoint and Mezzotint
Untitled Landscape, Drypoint Etching
"Winter Night", Mezzotint
"Sometimes reason produces monsters", Drypoint Etching with Mezzotint
Over the past few weeks I have been slowly working on a large oil painting of a barn owl. It feels fun to actually make a semi-serious piece. Don't get me wrong, I love making cute whimsical things but it is also nice to be a little more technical once and awhile.
I am going to try to keep the momentum up and always be working on something more serious while I make all my other pieces for my Etsy shop.
Here is a picture of the in progress painting. It is nearing completion, just needs a little more work in the foreground. It is painted on a 3' x 4' canvas. Hope you enjoy!
